Does this picture just not make you want to cry. On September 4, 2008 at 1:30p.m Kortney got her tonsils taken out at Primary Children's Hospital because she always was sick with strep throat, her tonsils and adenoids were so big. We got to Primaries at 11:00 am to check in and it took until 1:30 to get her back. I have to say it is so hard to let your child go with a complete stranger with a panic look in her face of fear that you will not come back. my mom and i went and got some lunch because the doctor and everyone said they would be 45min- 1 hour so we thought we were safe to go grab some lunch. we were gone maybe 25 mins and hurried back upstairs to wait and they said they have been looking for us for 10 mins and that Kortney was done and i can go back. as i was walking back to where she was with the nurse i could just hear the cry of my little baby in pain, as i rounded the corner i saw her and i just wanted to cry for her she looked in pain and they were giving her medication. my first words were can i hold her please? her nurse helped my into a chair because at this time i was still on crutches so i was not very movable! after everything was calm and she saw that i was there she was still crying but she was more worried i was going to touch her IV then the pain in her throat. but with in 15 mins she was out of recovery and in the ICU and was not crying until she heard the sweet voice of her Nana. she sat right up and was looking for her then once they locked eyes she started to cry again like "Nana can you believe what they did to me!" so when cartoons were on we could not get much juice in her but we did get 3 popsicles in her that was good i had to bite them off but one right after another. This whole time she would not sleep because of the fear someone was going to come in and do something to her. so we didn't get to leave until 3:00 and once we hit the car she was out, we didn't get home until 4:30 so it was a very long day. Once we got home she was ready to just sleep would not eat just sleep! everyone came over to see her but she was not much company until her uncle Colby came over and she knows that Colby=play. but it was not a long play she didn't have much in her. On September 11, 2008 we had to make a trip back up to Primary ER because Kortney was having a fever, not peeing, not eating, not drinking, nothing she just wanted to sleep. So me being a worrying mother i called and they said we need to see her please. so her we go at 6 pm up to Primaries to be check and everyone knows that a ER visit is not a in out thing its you come and stay for many hours. we didn't leave until 1 am. HOWEVER i am a very nice daughter and i thought oh since it is raining i will go get the car for my mother and sick child. i am walking out with everything and was doing really good until i fell. yes my feet swept from underneath me bent my bad knee all the way back and then a nice twist, not fun at all. so two really nice men helped me into the wheel chair i had put my mother in and she walked me out to the car and we didn't get home until 2am. WHAT A GREAT NIGHT, ONE TO REMEMBER!
